Today when my darling daughter crept downstairs alone she left me a note beside the coffee machine that reads:
Here's your damn note :0)
I'm downstairs. xo me
When I asked her about it - she said "you said, next time leave me a BEEP note...so i did" she was beaming. Her dad she had spelled "damn" correctly. we beamed.
This is my favourite note - next to her note that says "I love you, you know. if you care" that she threw from her room in a six year old dramatic fling, and it landed at my feet. I love notes.
I love the wishes my son granted for Christmas one year - a class project in grade 2 maybe? - "may the people always laugh at your jokes" - "may you always love me".
i once got a note on a windshield that forever changed my life.
a little pencil. a half-dead pen. now i spend hours reading typed words and filling them with meaning. but pretty little words. stop me in my tracks.
so say something nice - I guess that's my wish. take your whole heart and say something nice. give someone a damn note.
xo
